Independent Consultant

I have been working around Pune for a long time, ever since I finished up at the University of Pune back in 1991. My background is in MSW and labor law, which I studied there. I don’t have a fancy office in a glass building. I mostly work from my own space where I keep all my old books and papers from the nineties. It’s a very simple setup. Being an independent consultant means I handle everything myself, from the filing to the actual meetings. Pune has grown so much since I started out, but I still like the old way of doing things. I spend my mornings going through documents and my afternoons talking to people who need some help with their paperwork. It’s not a big business with employees, just one person trying to stay busy. The area around the university is still one of my favorite places to walk when I need to clear my head. I don’t use any fancy technology, just a basic computer and a phone that rings more than I’d like. It’s a quiet life, really. I’ve lived and worked here for decades so I know the rhythms of the city pretty well by now. People usually find me because someone else told them I was still around and still doing this work. It’s just a humble desk in a familiar city and I am quite content with how things are going these days.
