Over here in Raver, specifically at Mahajan Wade, we have set up Ilika Farmer Producer Company Limited. It is based at Dhanji Deoram Nemade’s place, number 1457. Raver is a busy place for agriculture, especially with all the banana plantations around this part of Jalgaon. We are just a group of neighbors and fellow farmers who decided to pool our resources together. It gets lonely and hard trying to sell your produce as one person in a big market. So, we formed this company. We are not fancy people with suits. We wear our work clothes most of the time. The office is really just a spot to sit and talk shop after the day is done. We handle the stuff that comes with farming in this part of Maharashtra. The weather can be a real pain sometimes, but we manage somehow. We have all been in this business for years, mostly following what our fathers and grandfathers did. Now we are trying to be a bit more organized with the selling and the buying. It is a learning process for all of us. We make mistakes with the paperwork sometimes because we are not used to it. But we always get the farming part right. That is what matters most.
