House Of Computer

Our shop, House Of Computer, is tucked away in the Mahatma Industrial Estate in Wakad. Being in an industrial estate means it's not the cleanest place in the world—there’s always some construction or a truck loading nearby—but it’s where we do our work. We handle all sorts of computer issues, from hardware failing to software just being stubborn. I’ve been in Wakad for years and watched it grow from almost nothing to what it is now. The office is basically a long workbench covered in screwdrivers and thermal paste. It’s a practical space. I don't see the point in having a fancy waiting room when most people just want their machine fixed so they can get back to work. I spend my mornings responding to emails and the afternoons are usually for the actual hands-on repairs. Sometimes a part takes a week to arrive from the distributor and I have to call the customer to explain the delay. It’s part of the job. I’ve met all kinds of people here, from factory owners in the estate to students from the nearby hostels. It’s a busy life, and the phone never really stops buzzing with questions about RAM upgrades or virus removals. I just take it one day at a time, making sure I don’t lose any of the tiny screws that come out of those modern laptops. It keeps me busy enough and pays the monthly bills.
