Gurukual Academy

Gurukual Academy is just a small place we run over in Ideal Colony. If you know the Paud Phata area in Kothrud, you know it gets quite busy with all the shops and people moving around. Our building is tucked in there. We started this a few years back because we had some extra space and realized families nearby needed a spot for their kids to go after school hours. It’s nothing like those big centers you see on the main roads with the glowing signs. We have a few rooms with basic desks and some old chairs that we have had since the beginning. Every morning, we come in, sweep the floors, and get the registers ready. Sometimes the fans make a bit of a clicking noise, but we are used to it by now. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we see the same faces every day. We do not really do much advertising or anything fancy. People just find us by word of mouth or by walking past the building on their way to the market. It’s a simple life here in Pune. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for the sessions to start. Most of our day is spent just managing the schedules and making sure everyone has a place to sit. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening when the last student finally heads home.
