Gupta Trading Co.

Gupta Trading Co. is located at Survey No.-35/36, near the Koregaon Park and Ghorpadi area. It’s a part of town that has a lot of different things going on. Our spot is more on the industrial side of things. We have a large open area for storing the goods we trade. The office is just a small cabin built into the corner of the warehouse. It gets a bit hot in there during the afternoon. We mostly deal with local vendors and businesses. I spend most of my time checking the quality of the items that arrive and making sure the quantities are correct. There is a lot of dust because of the trucks moving in and out of the yard. We have a small staff of three people who handle the loading. We don't have a computer system for the inventory; we just use a big notebook and pencils. It is much easier that way and we don't have to worry about the power going out. People know us by word of mouth, so we don't bother with any advertising. The walls of the office are covered in old calendars and phone numbers written directly on the paint. It is a very informal environment. We drink tea together in the mornings before the work gets heavy. It is a basic trading business, and we have been at this location for a long time.
