Gautam Printers

Our printing shop is over at 92 Shukrawar Peth in the Hindu Colony area. We are right on Dr Ambedkar Road, not too far from the Mandai Ganpati. It’s a lively part of town with a lot of history. Inside the shop, the air always smells like fresh ink and paper. We have the big printing machines that make a steady rhythmic thumping sound when they are running. We do all sorts of jobs, like wedding cards, business flyers, or just simple black and white copies. The counters are usually stacked high with reams of paper and finished orders waiting to be picked up. We’ve been here in Shukrawar Peth long enough that we know the guys at the tea stall next door pretty well. People come in with their ideas written on napkins or saved on their phones, and we try to get it onto paper for them. Sometimes the machines act up or the ink runs thin, and we have to spend an hour fixing it with blue-stained fingers. It’s not a fancy office; it’s a workshop. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while we talk about the font or how thick the paper should be. Being near Mandai Ganpati means it gets really busy during festival times. We just keep our heads down and keep the rollers spinning until the work is done for the day. There is always more to print tomorrow, so we just close up when it's dark and head home.
