Ganraya Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

This is Ganraya Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are located over at House Number 96 in Basamba. It’s actually at the place of Nagre Nivrutti Sakharam. Being a women’s farmer group, we have a lot of things going on at once. Most of us are from around Basamba or the nearby fields. It is a bit of a trek to get here if you aren't used to the local roads, but everyone knows where the Nagre family lives. We started this company because we wanted to do things for ourselves as farmers. It’s not a big city business. Our office is basically a room where we meet up and talk about the crops and the prices. Sometimes there are kids running around or people stopping by for tea while we work. It’s a community thing, really. We don't have fancy brochures. If you want to know what we are doing, you just come by H. No 96 and ask. The work is hard, but having the company makes it feel more official. We spend a lot of time discussing seeds and how to get better yields. It’s all very practical stuff. Basamba is a good place for this kind of work. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make sure our members are doing okay and the farming is going well. It’s a lot of work to get everyone on the same page, but we manage it together somehow. It’s just us doing our best with what we have.
