This is Gagandip Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are based over in Wafgaon, right at Mandalwadi number 745. It’s a local effort run by the women here in the Khed district. We spend most of our time dealing with what’s growing in the fields and making sure everything is handled right. The address 410505 is where you can find us most days of the week. It isn't a corporate setup with a lot of people in suits. Instead, it’s just us working together to make sense of the farming season and the markets. We have a lot of stuff to manage, from the supplies to the actual harvesting. Wafgaon is a small place, so everyone knows what we are doing. We just try to stay organized and help each other out when the workload gets heavy. Some days are longer than others, especially when the rains are coming or when it’s time to move the produce. We don’t use any big words or fancy strategies, we just talk about what needs doing and then we go out and do it. Being a Mahila group means we look out for one another and keep the business side of things honest. It’s a lot of responsibility but we are used to it by now. The Mandalwadi area is where we grew up and where we work every single day. We are just trying to keep the community going through our farming work.
