Fourty Nine & Ninenty Nine

Down at 4 Shikha House on 7th Main Road, we’ve got Fourty Nine & Ninenty Nine. We are right there in the 1st Block near Prestige Plaza. The shop name pretty much tells you how we price things, which makes it easy for people to know what they are getting into. It’s a lot of small items, toys, kitchen gadgets, and little things for the house. Because the prices are set like that, we get a lot of people just browsing to see what they can find for a bargain. Keeping the shelves organized is a constant battle because folks pick things up and put them back in the wrong spots all day long. Prestige Plaza is a busy area, so there’s always a crowd outside. We have to be careful with the glass windows because of all the people walking past. Inside, it’s a bit bright with the fluorescent lights, which helps people see the colors of the different products we have. I spend most of my time behind the small counter, ringing things up and putting them into bags. Sometimes the 7th Main Road gets really noisy with all the traffic, but inside the shop, we just focus on the customers. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us making sure the bins are full and the floor is clean enough. It’s a simple business model, and it keeps us busy from morning until we close the shutters.
