Evergreen Gift Gallery is my shop. It’s located at 4 Pate Icon, which is quite close to the P N Gadgil showroom in Kothrud. Being near such a big name helps people find us easily. I’ve been in this spot for a while now. The shop is mostly filled with gift items, frames, and small decorative pieces. It’s not a huge showroom, just a comfortable space where you can look around. I try to keep the stock updated, but sometimes I hold onto things for a while because I like them. The Pate Icon building is modern, so the shop looks quite clean, but I keep it simple inside. I don’t have any fancy staff, it’s usually just me behind the counter. I spend my days rearranging the displays and talking to the regulars. Kothrud has changed a lot, but this corner feels like home. I don’t go for any of that high-pressure selling. If someone wants a gift, they’ll find it. I just try to keep a good variety so there’s something for everyone. Most of my customers are people from the nearby apartments who need something for a friend’s birthday or an anniversary. It’s a quiet, steady life here. I like the rhythm of it, opening up in the morning and seeing the same faces on the street every day. I've got some shelves that I still need to fix, but they hold the stuff well enough for now.
