Ecohorizon Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of a small place, H No 1100, in the village of Donde. This is in the Khed Taluka area of Pune, and it’s where we do all our planning. We are just a bunch of people who work the land and realized that we could probably get more done if we pooled our resources instead of everyone doing their own thing. It is a quiet spot, and we spend most of our time thinking about the soil and what the market wants. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just know that being a farmer in Maharashtra is hard work and requires a lot of patience. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when it should, or the prices in Pune are too low, so we try to help each other out. We focus on what we grow right here in our own fields. Our address at Donde is basically our home base where we keep our records and meet up to discuss the season. It’s pretty simple. We want to make sure the work we do on the farm actually pays off so we can keep living here and doing what we know. There is no secret to it, just staying organized and making sure the crops are looked after from the day we plant till they leave the village. Some days are harder than others but we keep going.
