Disalewadi Agro Farmer Producer Company

Our group, the Disalewadi Agro Farmer Producer Company, is based out of Babu Netake’s house, number 182. This is in Disalewadi, which is part of Jamkhed in the Ahmednagar district. We are basically just a bunch of farmers who thought it was a good idea to pool our resources. Agriculture around here can be tough because of the water situation, so we try to help each other out with inputs and selling the harvests. It’s not a big corporate setup. Most of the meetings happen right there at the house or out in the fields. We handle things like grain and whatever else we are growing that season. Jamkhed is our main hub for getting things to the market. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on the ground work. If you come by Disalewadi, just ask for Babu’s place and you'll find where we manage the paperwork. It’s a simple operation. We deal with the local problems like pests or the market prices dropping when we least expect it. It takes a lot of effort to keep a producer company running when everyone is busy with their own land, but we manage to stay organized. We’ve got a few dozen members now. It’s just about making sure we get a fair shake for the hard work we put into the soil every day.
