Dhanshree

Our place is tucked away on Synagogue Street in the Camp area, right near the Ram Mandir. It’s an old part of town, so the roads are narrow and there’s always something going on outside the door. At Dhanshree, we keep things pretty basic. We’ve got our shelves stocked and we try to keep things organized, even if it gets a bit cluttered during the festive seasons when everyone is out shopping. The morning starts with the sounds from the temple nearby, which is a nice way to begin the day before the traffic gets heavy. People walk by on their way to work or the market, and some of them have been stopping in for years to say hello. We aren't a big mall or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop where we know most of the faces that come through the door. Sometimes the inventory takes up too much space and we’re moving boxes around all afternoon to make a path. It can get cramped when more than three people are inside at once. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and keeps us dry when it rains hard. We don't do much in the way of fancy displays or bright lights. We just put things where they fit and hope people find what they need for their homes. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the weekends when the whole Camp area gets crowded with shoppers. We usually just wait for the next person.
