Dhanlaxmi Varieties & Gift Articles is located in building 1 A 4 in the Dhanori area. It is a small shop that sits right on the ground floor, so it’s easy for people living in the building to just walk over. We started this because we saw that there wasn't a place close by to get basic things or small gifts. We carry a little bit of everything, from plastic containers to small toys and decorative items. The space is tight, so we’ve stacked things up pretty high. Sometimes a customer asks for something and we have to use a stool to reach the top shelf. It’s a local kind of place where neighbors stop by just to say hello even if they aren't buying anything that day. We don't have any fancy displays. We just put things out where people can see them. Being in a residential building means we see the same faces every day. We know whose kid is having a birthday and what kind of things they like. It’s a quiet life in Dhanori compared to the city center, which we prefer. Our hours are a bit flexible depending on when people are around. If someone knocks late, we might still be there tidying up. It’s not a corporate business, just us trying to keep a useful shop for the folks living nearby. We hope to stay here for many more years.
