Dhanavi Farmer Producer Company Limited is situated at G No. 1008 in Kalus, which is part of the Khed Taluka in Pune. We are a small collective of farmers who have been working the land in this area for as long as we can remember. Kalus is a quiet place and we like it that way, but we realized that we needed to be more organized to keep up with the changes in farming. That is why we started this producer company. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning. Our office is the same place where we store our tools and talk about the harvest. We deal with the usual stuff like the cost of diesel and the state of the roads. Being in Khed gives us a good connection to the rest of Pune, but our hearts are really in the soil here. We work with whatever crops are in season and try to help each other when things get tough. It's not about making a huge profit, it's just about being able to keep farming the way we always have, but with a bit more support from each other. You will mostly find us out in the fields, not sitting at a desk. We are just regular people who value hard work and honest dealings. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it’s what we know and what we do together as a group.
