Desai Electronics Pvt Ltd is based here at 34/15, Flat No 4 in the Chavan Complex. This is also in Dhankawadi, Pune. It’s a bit of a different setup being in a complex, but it works for us. We have our benches and tools set up in the flat where we do most of our assembly and testing. It’s not a storefront with big windows, so you have to know where you are going to find us. Living and working in Pune means dealing with the rain during monsoon and the traffic all the time. Chavan Complex is a sturdy building and we’ve been here long enough that the guard knows us by name. We spend a lot of time looking at circuits and dealing with suppliers. It isn't glamorous work, but it is what we know. We keep the windows open when the weather is nice to let some air in. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when a big shipment comes in, but we manage. The other residents in the complex are mostly families, so we try to keep the noise down. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t have a big corporate board or anything like that, just a few people working out of a flat to get things done. It feels more like a home than a sterile office, which we actually prefer for this kind of work. We just try to keep things moving along and stay busy with the orders as they come in.
