Our little company, Deorajagro Producer Company Limited, is registered at Devidas Sahebrao Ghallal’s place, which is house 100/3 in the Ratnagiri area of Beed. Don't let the name Ratnagiri confuse you, we are right here in the heart of Beed. We are a group of local farmers who felt that we could do more if we pooled our efforts. Farming in this part of the country is never easy. You’re always worrying about the rain or the price of diesel. By forming this company, we try to take some of that pressure off. We aren't some polished corporation. Most of our meetings happen on a porch or under a tree. We talk about the crops, the pests, and how to get our stuff to the buyers without losing all our profit to the middleman. It’s a very hands-on job. We spend most of our time out in the sun, and the company stuff is mostly done in the evenings when we’re tired. We just want to make sure our local agriculture stays alive and that the younger guys don't all run off to the city. We keep it honest and practical. There are no big speeches here, just people who know how to work the ground and want to see a fair return for it.
