Deccan Academy

Deccan Academy is located right in the heart of Deccan Gymkhana, at number 1276. If you know Pune, you know this area is always buzzing with energy. It’s a hub for students and people grabbing a bite to eat. Our building is right in the middle of all that noise. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but not by much. We have classrooms that get quite full during the peak hours. We don't have a big marketing budget or a team of writers. It’s usually just one of us handling the desk while trying to keep things organized. The furniture is practical, mostly just desks and chairs that have been used by a lot of people over the years. We spend our days talking to students and figuring out schedules. It’s a lot of paperwork and talking. The fans overhead hum all day long to keep the heat away. Pune summers can be tough, but the atmosphere in Deccan Gymkhana keeps you going. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure the people who come here have a place to sit and learn. It’s a very local operation. We know the tea seller downstairs and the guy who fixes the scooters on the corner. That’s just the way it is here at 1276. We don't need fancy words to explain what we do every day. It is just a school like any other in this neighborhood.
