Our workspace is inside R. K. Palace at Plot No. 7 in Daulat Nagar. Dhankawadi is a busy area, and being tucked away in this plot gives us the space we need for the leather work we do. It isn't a palace in the way people think; it's just the name of the building where we have our setup. We handle a lot of heavy leather hides here. The process involves a lot of lifting and laying things out flat to check for imperfections in the material. We have these long wooden benches that have seen better days, but they are solid and work well for cutting. The floors are hard, and we spend all day on our feet moving from one side to the other. Sometimes the smell of the leather is very strong, especially when the humidity is high in Pune. We have a small window that looks out towards the street, but mostly we are focused on the benches and the tools. People in Daulat Nagar know us as the leather guys in Plot 7. We don't have a showroom with bright lights or anything. It's just a workshop with tools, scraps, and finished goods waiting to be picked up. We keep the patterns hanging on the wall on some old nails. It’s an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. Usually, we are busy from early morning until the sun goes down, just trying to get through the work.
