At Shukrawar Peth 96, you’ll find the workplace of Datta G Dhade. This is one of those older parts of the city where the history is everywhere you look. Working in a place like this means you’re surrounded by other small businesses and families who have been here for generations. Our office isn't modern by any stretch of the imagination. It’s got thick walls and small windows, but it stays relatively cool in the heat of the summer. We don’t have a website with lots of moving parts or a social media manager. Most of the people we deal with are locals or people who heard about us from someone else. We spend our time working on the tasks that come in, mostly using old-fashioned methods because they still work just fine for us. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in what we do, and my desk is usually covered in folders and loose sheets. We don’t mind the clutter though; it shows that things are actually getting done. Lunch is usually a shared affair where we all bring something from home and sit around the main table. It’s not the most professional environment if you’re looking for something slick, but it’s honest and it’s how we’ve always operated. We just focus on the day-to-day and try to stay on top of things as best as we can. It's how we've always done it.
