Csons Enterprises Labour Contractor is basically just a small office we run out of Lane No 9 in Sasanenagar. If you know where Abdulla Khan Caterers is in Hadapsar, you can find us pretty easily because we are right near there. Most days it is pretty busy around here with the smells of food from the caterers and the sound of bikes going up and down the lane. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or sitting at the main desk trying to coordinate workers for different jobs around Pune. It is not a fancy setup or anything, just a couple of desks, some plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait, and a lot of paperwork piled up. We have been in this part of Sasanenagar for a while now, so we know the neighbors well. Usually, the morning starts with opening the metal shutters and sweeping out the dust that blows in from the street. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan going full blast. People come in looking for work or needing a few extra hands for a project, and we just try to get everyone sorted out. It is honest work and keeps us on our toes most of the week. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a break, but mostly we are just focused on the lists of names and the schedules we have to manage for the sites.
