Chavan Brick

You can find Chavan Brick over in Dhayari Gaon. We are located very close to the Vitthal Mandir, which is a well-known landmark for everyone in the village. On festival days, it gets really crowded and noisy with people going to the temple, but we don't mind the energy. Our brick yard is a local fixture in this part of Dhayari. We’ve got the kilns and the drying areas spread out over the ground. It is a family-type atmosphere here, with everyone knowing each other. The work is hard and it gets very hot near the fires, but it's what we know. We don't spend much time on paperwork or sitting in an office. Most of our day is spent out on the dirt, checking on the batches of bricks. The temple bells are a constant sound in the background while we work. We use the local soil and follow the old ways of doing things that have been around Dhayari for a long time. It isn't a high-tech operation. We have some basic machinery to help, but a lot of it is still done by hand. When the sun goes down, we usually finish up and head home to the village. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to chat or see how the work is going. It’s a simple, straightforward life here near the Vitthal Mandir, just making bricks day in and day out for the local builders.
