Siporex India P. Ltd. is located out at Tal, which is a bit of a trek if you are coming from the bigger cities in Maharashtra. Being in a post-office-based location like At/Po Tal means things move at a slightly different pace than they do in the middle of Mumbai or Pune. We have a small crew here and we’ve all known each other for years. Most of us grew up in the nearby villages, so we are locals through and through. The work we do isn't complicated but it needs to be done right every single day. We spend a lot of time outside or in the open sheds, so we’re used to whatever the weather decides to do. If it is raining, we are dealing with the mud; if it is hot, we are looking for shade. We don't have a big corporate culture or anything like that. We just come in, do the work, and go home to our families. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out for a bit, but we just find something else to do until it comes back. It is a very grounded way of living and working. We focus on the tasks at hand and don’t worry too much about anything else. It's just a regular local business trying to keep things running for everyone who depends on us in the area. We do our best and stay out of the way.
