Chaudhari Bandhu Mittaiwale is our family business. We are set up in Sadashiv Peth, and we also have a presence around the Pune-Nagar Road area in Chandan Nagar near the Shivaji Putala. The number on the building is 2099. We have been making sweets for a long time now. It’s what we know how to do. The shop in Sadashiv Peth is usually where we spend most of our time. It is a traditional area and we fit right in. We don't use any fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand because that’s how we learned from our elders. On the Pune-Nagar Road side, it’s a bit faster paced but we keep the same way of working. People come in for all sorts of occasions. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. Word of mouth in Chandan Nagar has always been enough for us. Sometimes the shop gets very crowded, especially during the festivals, and we all have to pitch in to keep up with the line. It’s a lot of standing and stirring big pots in the back kitchen. We try to keep things honest and just sell what we make that day. Being near Shivaji Putala makes us easy to find for anyone in the neighborhood. We are just a bunch of brothers and relatives running a sweet shop. That is the long and short of it for us.
