Running Chate Coaching Classes on Satara Road in Hadapsar means dealing with a lot of dust and noise from the traffic outside. It’s a busy stretch of road, and we’ve been here long enough to see it change quite a bit. Inside the center, things are a lot more predictable. We have the usual routine of setting up the classrooms and making sure there are enough copies of the worksheets for everyone. The rooms are basic, with whiteboards that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't use any fancy technology, just the traditional way of sitting down and going through the chapters together. The students usually arrive in waves, depending on when their schools let out. Some of them come in looking pretty exhausted, so we try to keep the atmosphere calm but focused. It’s not just about the teaching though; there’s a lot of paperwork and tracking attendance that keeps us busy in the small office area near the entrance. Sometimes we have tea together in the break, talking about how the syllabus is getting harder every year. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the academic calendar. From the start of the term to the final exams, our days are pretty much planned out. It’s a practical space for kids to come and get their studying done away from the distractions of home.
