Chandrakant Farsan Mart

We've been here at Bund Garden Road near Liberty Garden for a long time. It’s a busy spot. People stop by for farsan while they are out doing their errands. My father started this, and we just kept it going the same way. We make the snacks every day. The kitchen is small but we manage. Sometimes it gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is headed home. It's mostly regular customers who live around here. We know most of them by name. We don't do anything fancy with packaging, just the regular bags. It's a lot of work frying things in the morning heat. The smells stay on your clothes all day. Sometimes we run out of certain items early if there’s a festival or a big party nearby. We try to keep everything fresh. Dealing with suppliers for flour and oil is a bit of a headache lately with prices going up. But we just focus on the counter and the customers. It’s a simple life. We close up when the stock is done or it's late enough. People like the spicy mix we make here. If you are walking past Liberty Garden, you can usually smell the spices. We don't have much seating, just enough for a couple of people to wait while we weigh their orders. It’s just how we do things. Not much has changed in the shop over the years. It is what it is.
