Central Spares

Satara Road is always loud. If you’ve been down towards number 8, you know how the traffic just keeps moving. We’ve been running Central Spares here for a long time. It’s mostly shelves and shelves of parts. If you need a specific nut or a cable for an older engine, we probably have it tucked away somewhere in the back. It’s dusty work. I spend most of my day looking through catalogs or climbing ladders to find one small box. People stop by on their way to work or when their vehicle breaks down nearby. We see a lot of mechanics and some regular folks who like to fix their own stuff at home. I grew up around here, so I know the neighborhood well. The shop isn't much to look at, just a counter and a lot of metal. We don't really do much fancy talk here. You tell us what part you're looking for, and we see if we have it in stock. If not, we try to figure out where to get it. Sometimes the rain gets in a bit through the front, but we manage. It’s a living. My father started this years ago, and I just kept it going. It’s a lot of inventory to keep track of, but after twenty years, you just kind of know where everything is without thinking about it much.
