Salunke Vihar is a well-known spot in Pune, and it’s usually quite busy with people out for walks or shopping. We are a small baking unit. Every day is pretty much the same routine of mixing dough, waiting for it to rise, and then getting it into the oven. The heat from the ovens makes the place quite warm, even when it’s raining outside. We have a few staff members who have been with us for a while. We aren't a corporate bakery chain. It’s just us. Sometimes the bread doesn't come out perfect, maybe the oven was too hot or we left it in a minute too long. We just learn and try again the next day. We don't spend money on big ads or fancy packaging. We just put the stuff in bags and get it out there. Dealing with the daily commute in Pune can be a headache, but we manage to get here on time. The building is a standard apartment and shop complex. We like the neighborhood because people are generally friendly. It’s just a normal bakery business where we spend most of our time covered in a bit of flour and making sure the orders are ready. At night, we sweep up and get ready to start over again.
