If you walk into the Megha Cooperative Housing Society at Raviwar Peth, you'll find us at number 7. Bombay Machine Repairing Works is a bit of a traditional shop. We’ve got tools that have been around longer than some of our younger workers. The place is full of the sound of grinding and metal hitting metal. It’s not a quiet office environment, that’s for sure. We take in old machines that people think are finished and try to get them spinning again. It takes patience and a lot of grease. Sometimes we’re covered in oil by lunchtime. We don't have a fancy reception area. You just walk into the workshop and talk to whoever isn't holding a torch at that moment. We’ve been in Raviwar Peth for a long time, and we know the rhythms of the market here. Most of our work comes from other local businesses who need their equipment fixed fast. We don't make promises we can’t keep. If a part is hard to find, we’ll tell you it’s going to take a week. We like the challenge of a difficult repair. It feels good when an old engine finally coughs back to life. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it this way for years. We aren't looking to change much, just keep the machines running for everyone who relies on them.
