Down here near the Cherval Rajawari Village, things move at a different pace. Being near Shirwal means we see a lot of trucks passing by all day long. The office is just a place where we get the paperwork done while the actual work happens out back. It’s dusty out here especially when the wind picks up from the open fields. Most of us live nearby so the commute isn't too bad unless the rain turns the roads into mud. We have some old desks and the computers are a bit slow but they get the job done eventually. Lunch is usually a quiet time where we sit together and share whatever we brought from home. You can hear the sounds of the machinery humming in the background. It becomes like white noise after a few months of working here. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the gate and the name. Sometimes travelers get lost and ask for directions to the village. We help them out and then get back to our logs. The power goes out once in a while so we have to wait it out. It’s just how it is in this part of the country. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for long afternoons. It isn't a high-rise office in a city, just a practical spot where we spend our days. We close up around six and head home before it gets too dark on the village roads.
