Bhagirath Academy

You’ll find Bhagirath Academy on the second floor of Matri Heights in Shaniwar Peth. We are right above the Indian Bank and quite close to the Dakshinmukhi Maruti Mandir at Appa Balawant Chowk. This part of Pune is always crowded with people looking for books or going to the temple. Our office is tucked away in the building, away from some of the street noise. It’s a functional space with several rooms for classes and a small corner for the staff to sit. We don’t have anything very fancy here. The furniture is basic, and we have stacks of papers and books almost everywhere. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. People come in and out all day, mostly students looking for guidance on their exams. We spend our time talking to them and trying to keep everything organized. The light in the rooms isn't the best, so we rely on the overhead lamps quite a bit. It feels like a very traditional Pune setup, where the focus is more on the books than the decor. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just a place where people study and we help them along. Sometimes we share a few snacks during the break, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. It’s been our workplace for a while, and we’re used to the rhythm of Appa Balawant Chowk. We usually open up early in the morning and stay until the street lights come on.
