Out here in Ambale, things move a bit slower than they do in the main Pune city. Bendrevijayraj Agro Foods Private Limited is located right at G No 63/1, which is basically where the work happens every day. Shirur is a big area and being in the village of Ambale means we are surrounded by fields and a lot of agriculture. We aren't a big fancy corporation with suits. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes dealing with the crops and the food processing. The roads out here can be a bit rough during the monsoon, so getting things in and out takes some patience. We started this because there was a need for someone to handle the agro side of things right here where the food is actually grown. It’s a lot of manual work and checking the quality of what comes through our gates. The shed is usually full of bags and the smell of whatever is in season. Sometimes the electricity goes out or the trucks are late, but we manage to get through the day. My team and I grew up around here, so we know the land and the people well. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure the food we process is handled right. That’s about it for us at the Ambale site. We hope to stay here for a long time yet.
