Banthia Graphics

If you’ve ever walked down Laxmi Road near Narayan Peth, you know how busy it gets. Banthia Graphics is right there at Survey No 366, directly opposite Gokhale Hall. Our shop is often filled with the smell of ink and the sound of printers running in the back. We do a lot of design and print work for the people in this neighborhood. Whether it’s someone needing some cards printed or a local shop wanting new signs, they usually find their way to us. It’s a bit of a tight space because we have stacks of paper and sample books everywhere, but it’s a working shop, not a museum. Being across from Gokhale Hall means we see all the events and crowds that come through, which keeps things interesting. We’ve been here long enough that we don't really need a big sign outside. Most folks just know the spot. We try to get things done as quickly as we can, though sometimes the machines have a mind of their own and we have to spend an hour tinkering with them. That’s just part of the job. We don't talk about visions or anything like that. We just make sure the colors look right on the paper and the customer is happy with what they take home. It’s an honest day's work in one of the busiest parts of the city. We keep a stack of old newspapers in the corner and a calendar that’s always a few days behind.
