Our home base is at Shivdharm Niwas in Kamthe Ali, which is part of the Haveli area in Pune. We go by Balivansaj Farmer Producer Company Limited, but we’re really just a group from the 412308 neighborhood. Being on Gat 126/10/4 gives us enough space to handle what we need to. Pune is a big place, but out here in Haveli, it still feels like a community where everyone knows what the other is planting. We aren't some polished firm from the city center. We are boots-on-the-ground people. Most days involve a lot of talk about the soil and how the latest rains have affected the local plots. It’s not always easy work, and there’s plenty of sweat involved. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just help each other out with the farming business. The office is part of a residence, so it’s very informal. You might hear dogs barking or see kids playing nearby while we’re trying to settle the accounts. That’s just the reality of a local business in Maharashtra. We decided to team up because the market is tough for a single farmer. Now we have this name on paper, but the work remains the same as it’s always been. It’s about getting through the season and hoping for a good turnout. We don't have a big corporate plan, just the daily tasks that need doing for the group.
