Balasaheb Barate

If you find yourself on Dr Rajkumar Road in Karve Nagar, you might pass by our place at 187. Balasaheb Barate is what we go by. It’s a small operation here. The office is basically one main room with a couple of desks and a lot of books and files. We spend a lot of time talking to people who walk in from the street. Karve Nagar is a lively neighborhood, so there’s always something happening outside the window. We’ve got a small balcony where we keep some plants, though they don’t always look great in the heat. The inside of the office is a bit cramped because we keep everything we might need. We aren't big on decorating. There’s a calendar on the wall that’s usually a month behind. Most of our day is spent on the phone or meeting with people about their needs. It’s a lot of talking and listening. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to close the windows, which makes it stuffy. We’ve been here long enough that most of the shopkeepers nearby know us. It’s a steady kind of work. We don't have any big corporate goals, we just try to help the people who come to see us. It’s an honest way to spend the day. Nothing too fancy, just a regular office in a busy part of town where we do our thing.
