Atmanirbhar Village Producer Company Limited is based in the heart of Pune city. We are located at B 101, Bharat Bhavan, 1360 Shukrawar Peth. It might seem a bit strange for a village producer company to have an address in Shukrawar Peth, but it helps us stay connected to the markets and the people who buy our produce. Bharat Bhavan is an old building and our office is just one of the many small units there. We spend a lot of time moving between the city and the actual villages where the farming happens. The company is a way for us to bring the village products directly to a place where they can be managed better. Shukrawar Peth is always crowded and noisy, which is the opposite of the farms, but we have to be here for the business side of things. We don't have any polished corporate stuff going on. It’s just a place with some desks and files. We talk to farmers from various areas and try to figure out the best way to move their goods. Being 'Atmanirbhar' or self-reliant is just something we try to be in our daily work. We don't use big words to describe it. We just show up every day, deal with the city traffic, and make sure the farming business is being handled the right way. It is a practical arrangement that serves us well, even if the city life is a bit too fast for some of our members.
