Atharv Variety

Atharv Variety is over on S L U College Road, right inside the Narendra Smruti building. It’s a funny location because the address mentions Ahmedabad and Kothrud, but we are right here near Ellis Bridge. The shop is a bit cramped because I keep bringing in new things to sell. We have everything from sewing kits to birthday cards and some light bulbs. It’s the kind of place where you come for one thing and end up looking at five others. The students from the college nearby come in a lot for pens and notebooks. I’ve been running this for a few years now. The shelves are made of old wood and sometimes they creak. I don't really have a system for where things go, I just know where I put them. If you can’t see something, you’ll have to ask. It’s usually me and maybe one other person helping out during the busy hours. The street outside is always noisy with the college traffic and people walking by. We have a small stool for people to sit on if they’re waiting. It’s not a polished store, but it serves the purpose for everyone around here. I close up when it gets late, usually after the last batch of students heads home. It's just a honest little shop in a busy part of the city.
