Amar Mobile Gift House

Amar Mobile Gift House is right there at Dange Chowk in Chinchwad. We are positioned right in front of the Shivaji Statue, so it’s a very easy place to describe to people. It’s a busy intersection and there is always something going on outside. We do two things here, mobiles and gifts. Half the shop has glass counters for phones and chargers, and the other half is filled with gift items like frames and small statues. It’s a bit of an odd mix but it works for the people around here. We spend a lot of time helping people pick out phone covers or explaining how a certain gadget works. Then someone else will come in looking for a gift for a wedding and we switch to that. The shop isn't very large so we have to be careful not to bump into each other. We have a small TV in the corner that we keep on the news. During the monsoon, the water sometimes splashes up near the entrance, so we have to keep a mop handy. We have been at this location for some time and seen the statue get cleaned and decorated many times. It is just a local business where we try to keep the stock interesting. We don't have a big corporate office or anything, just this one room at Dange Chowk. It gets loud with the horns honking outside, but you get used to it.
