Amar Achal Farm

Amar Achal Farm sits on a piece of land in Yerwada with the number 123/234. It is not like the crowded parts of the city near here. Out here, you can actually see the soil and watch how things grow depending on the rain. We have a gate that creaks a bit when you open it. Most mornings start very early before the sun is even fully up. There are different sections for the crops and we spend a lot of time just walking around checking the irrigation pipes. The mud gets everywhere during the monsoon months and stays on your boots for days. We have a small shed where we keep the tools and some bags of seeds. It is quiet for the most part, except for the birds and the occasional sound of a tractor far off in the distance. The trees on the edge of the property give some good shade when we need to sit down for a break. We don't have any fancy office, just a wooden table under the porch where we keep track of the harvests. The air feels different here than it does down the road. It takes a lot of work to keep the weeds down and the plants healthy. We just take it one day at a time and watch the weather reports. Sometimes the harvest is good and sometimes the bugs get to things first.
