Akshay Beauty Parlour

You can find Akshay Beauty Parlour up on the second floor of Pandark Height in Somwar Peth. Being in an apartment building like this is a bit different from having a street-side shop. It’s quieter, and you don’t get as much random foot traffic. Most of the people who come here are residents of the building or folks from the nearby streets in Pune. We do the usual things like haircuts and beard trims for the men, or whatever else they need. The room is basic but has everything required. I try to keep the scissors sharp and the place tidy. Somwar Peth is an old area, and it has a lot of character. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I don't see any reason to change how I work. It’s a simple setup with a couple of chairs and a big mirror. I usually have a news channel on the TV if it's not too busy. People come in, we talk for a bit while I work, and then they go about their day. It’s not a fancy salon with expensive coffee or anything. It’s just a place to get a decent haircut without any fuss. The elevator in the building works most of the time, so getting up to 203 isn’t a problem. I like the height because I can see the street below when I take a break. It's just a regular local business.
