We are basically a collective of farmers from this village and the ones nearby. Anwa is a small place, so everybody knows everybody else's business. We started this company because we wanted to have a bit more control over how our crops are handled. It’s a lot of work, and there’s always something that needs doing. Whether it’s checking on the fields or sorting out the bags for transport, we stay busy. We aren't big-city people. We like the dirt and the open air. Sometimes the prices for crops go up, sometimes they go down, and we just try to ride it out together. My cousin helps out with the books, even though he’d rather be out on the tractor. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that written on the wall. We just know what needs to be done every morning. If you come by Amarjit’s place, you’ll likely see a few of us sitting around discussing the next harvest. It’s a plain and simple way of living. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields pays off in the end. It's not about getting rich, it's just about making a living for our families here.
