Agrowind Farmer Producer Company Limited is tucked away in Flat No. 8 of the Atreya Rajrajeshwari Apartment. We are located in Kale Nagar. It might seem a bit strange to have a farmer company in an apartment building, but it works for us. It gives us a central place to meet and talk about what's happening on the farms. We don't have a big storefront or anything. Most of our real work happens out on the soil, but this flat is where the planning and the phone calls happen. We are a group of farmers who realized that we could do more if we worked as one unit. Kale Nagar is a decent place to be based because it’s easy for people to reach us. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers or trying to figure out the best way to transport our produce. There is always a stack of papers on the table and someone drinking tea while we talk about the rains or the price of fertilizer. We’re not polished business people. We are just guys who know how to grow things and want to make sure we don't get the short end of the stick. It’s a bit cramped in the office sometimes, especially when more than four of us show up, but we make it work. It's practical and it keeps our costs down so more money goes back to the fields and the families.
