It is a bit different running an agro business from an apartment building like Shree Mahalakshmi CHS in Chembur. We are tucked away in Wing B, on the third floor, specifically in C-301. Tilak Nagar is a busy area, far from the actual farms, but this is where we handle the trading and the phone calls. Agrigation Agrocomm (Opc) Private started because there was a need to bridge that gap between the rural fields and the city markets. Our space is filled with files and the sound of the fan humming. It isn't a showroom. Most of the time, we are just tracking shipments or talking to vendors on the mobile. Being an Opc or one-person company means things are pretty direct here. There isn't a big board of directors, just a few of us making sure things move from point A to point B. The stairs up to the third floor can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens. We spend a lot of our day looking at prices and making sure the logistics don't fall apart. It gets hectic around harvest time even though we aren't out there with the plows ourselves. People sometimes wonder why an agro company is in a residential complex like Dhansree, but it works for us. It is our home base. We deal with the practical side of food moving across the state while the city moves outside our window.
