Adam Mens Parlor

You can find us at Kothrud Boal Centre in unit A/6. It’s not a very big shop, but we have enough room for the chairs and a small bench for people waiting. The mirrors have a few spots on them and the floor usually has some hair on it because we’re busy cutting all day. We’ve been in this part of Kothrud for a while now and most of the men in the neighborhood know where we are. We have the usual stuff like the smell of shaving cream and the sound of the clippers going. Sometimes the radio is playing some old songs and other times we just talk about the cricket scores or the weather. It gets quite hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the shop, so we keep the fan on high. The chairs are a bit old and the leather is starting to crack in the corners, but they are comfortable enough. We don't do anything fancy here, just regular haircuts and shaves for the locals. It’s a simple setup with a few shelves for the talcum powder and lotions. Boal Centre is easy to find once you know the way. We usually have a tea break around four when things quiet down for a bit. It’s just us working here, trying to make sure everyone leaves looking a bit neater than when they walked in.
