Abhinandan Gifts & General Stores

Our store is at number 5 in the Ujwal Kalindi Complex on Morga Village Road. It’s in the Andheri and Chandan Nagar area, which is a pretty crowded part of the city. We call ourselves a gift and general store because we carry a bit of everything. You might come in for a birthday card but then remember you need soap or a new lightbulb. The shelves are packed with all sorts of household items alongside the gift stuff. It makes for a bit of a strange mix, but it’s what the people around Morga Village Road seem to need. The shop is located in a complex, so we have neighbors on both sides. We spend a lot of time out front, sweeping the sidewalk or talking to the other shop owners. Inside, it’s a bit tight with all the inventory. We have boxes stacked in the corners and items hanging from the ceiling. It’s a practical place, not somewhere you go for a luxury experience. We keep the counter clear so we can wrap gifts or count out change. The building itself is older, so we have to deal with the occasional leak or a flickering light. We’ve been running this store for quite a while and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. It’s a steady job, and we enjoy the daily routine of opening up and seeing who stops by for their basics or a last-minute present for a neighbor.
