Aatif Mens Parlour

Aatif Mens Parlour is right there at 148 Mangalwar Peth, near the Juna Bazar Road and Parge Chowk. If you know the Barane Road area, you’ve probably walked past us. It’s a very busy part of Pune, especially with the market nearby. The shop is a typical men’s parlour. We have the standard barber chairs and the big mirrors that have been there for years. It’s usually full of men getting a shave or a quick haircut before work or on their day off. There’s always a bit of a buzz with people talking about sports or the local politics. I spend my days standing by the chair, handling the clippers and the razors. It’s honest work and it keeps me connected to the neighborhood. The shop isn’t fancy, but we keep it clean enough. We have a bench for people to wait and some old magazines, though most just look at their phones now. Juna Bazar is just a stone's throw away, so there’s always something interesting happening outside. We don't do any big promotions. People just know where we are. It’s a place where you can come in, get your hair sorted, and have a bit of a laugh with the other guys. The fans keep the air moving even when it gets really hot outside. I’ve lived around here forever, so this parlour feels like home to me. It’s just how things are in Mangalwar Peth.
