Aakruti Interior Designers is based in Sadashiv Peth at number 742. If you know this part of the city, you know the streets are narrow and always full of life. Our office fits right into that. It’s a small place where the shelves are sagging a bit from the weight of all the design books we have collected over the years. We spend a lot of time here with our heads down, sketching on yellow tracing paper. It’s not a quiet office; you can always hear the scooters outside and the bells from the temple nearby. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy things about us. It is just a few of us who like making spaces look better. We often have lunch together at the small desk in the back, pushing aside blueprints to make room for our tiffin boxes. Sometimes clients come in and they have to move a pile of carpet samples just to find a place to sit. We try to keep it organized, but when you are busy, the mess just happens. Most of the day is spent on the phone or working out how to fit a lot of storage into a tiny room. We know the local shops around Sadashiv Peth well, so we are always popping out to get something. It’s a practical way to work, and we have been at 742 long enough that it feels like part of us.
