Jayan Marbles & Granites

You can find us at R S No 32/2 on the 100 Ft Road. We’re in Olandairev Village, which is part of the Mudaliarpet area. It’s a noisy spot because of all the traffic on the main road, but it makes it easy for people to find us. We keep a lot of marble and granite in the yard. It gets pretty muddy when it rains, and the white marble always seems to attract the most dirt right when we want to show it to someone. We spend most of our time moving slabs around with the trolley. It’s hard on the back, but we’re used to it by now. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned showroom with spotlights. You just walk around the yard and see the stone in the natural light. My father started this business, and I just sort of took over when I got older. We have a few guys who help with the cutting and polishing. The machines are old but they still work fine if you treat them right. We don't do much advertising. Most people just see the stacks of stone when they're driving past on 100 Ft Road and stop in to ask a few questions. We tell them what's good for a kitchen and what might stain if they aren't careful. It’s just a practical business. We work hard, we deal with the dust, and we try to keep things moving.
