Net Services

Net Services runs out of House No- 976 in Rajrooppur, which is basically just a regular place where we keep all our gear and tools. It started because people in the neighborhood were always having trouble with their internet or needed help with some online forms and didn't know where to go. Now, we spend most of our time looking at computer screens or fixing routers that have stopped working for some reason. There are ethernet cables and power strips all over the place here. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just have to wait around like everyone else. It is not a big corporate setup, just a few of us who know our way around a computer or a network switch. We get a lot of older folks coming in who are not sure how to use their new phones or need to print out a document for the government. We just sit down with them and get it done. The room gets a bit stuffy in the heat, so we usually keep the front door open to catch a breeze. People walk by on the street and wave. It is a quiet part of town, but we stay busy enough with the local repairs. Sometimes a neighborhood cat wanders in from the street while we are working on a laptop. We do not mind. We just try to keep the connections running and make sure the printers have enough ink for whoever needs a copy.
