Hotel Kanha Shyam

Hotel Kanha Shyam sits on Strachey Road in the Civil Lines area. It is one of those places that has been around for a bit, so you can see the history in the walls and the furniture. Civil Lines is usually a bit quieter than the rest of the city, but we still get plenty of noise from the street during the day. We have a lot of different people coming through the doors, from families traveling together to people who are just in town for a couple of days of meetings. The lobby is a decent size where people tend to sit and wait for their rides. We spend a lot of our time making sure the rooms are ready and the air conditioning is doing its job because it gets pretty hot out there. It’s not a complicated place to run, though there’s always something that needs a bit of fixing or a lightbulb that needs changing. The staff here mostly keep to themselves and focus on getting their work done. We aren't trying to be anything other than a place to stay on 22/1. You can find us easily enough once you get onto Strachey Road. There’s a lot of trees around this part of town which is nice when the sun is really beating down. We just keep the doors open and try to keep things moving along smoothly for whoever walks in next.
